Biography / Pelle Bergström
Pelle Bergström is one of Sweden’s leading and most distinguished still-life photographers, and his international career is currently gaining rapid momentum. His distinctively minimalistic, yet highly elegant and sophisticated, potent and powerful expression has earned him global recognition for his work for international luxury fashion brands such as Hérmès, Luis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs, and his editorial work for magazines such as Wallpaper, Stockholm New and Bon. His client portfolio also includes corporate giants Nokia, Philips, IKEA and SAS, as well as Nordic fashion, design and luxury brands Ittala, NK, Rizzo, Hackman and Efva Attling.

Though Pelle Bergström can look back on a successful 25 years as a photographer, he is still in a relatively early phase of his career in fashion, luxury and still life. Somewhat unusually for someone working in this area of photography, Pelle actually started out as a documentary and portrait photographer, and didn’t specialise exclusively in still life until the early 1990s. His career has always been characterised by constant development and evolution, both artistically and technically, never resting on past accomplishments but always relentlessly pursuing new and higher goals. It is therefore typical of Pelle Bergström that he was a pioneer in Scandinavia by making the move to digital photography as early as the late 1990s.

Today, Pelle Bergström runs a lively and efficient frontline digital studio with the capacity to handle any type of commission for all types of clients. With his perfect mastery of the most sophisticated digital technology and techniques, Pelle Bergström is able to take his photographic expression to ever higher and newer levels.

In addition to his commercial and editorial work, Pelle Bergström has also published and collaborated on a large number of books throughout his career. He is currently working on the much-anticipated cookbook PA&Co – mer än en kokbok (PA&Co – more than a cookbook), to be published by Stockholm New Publishing in autumn 2006.
