Biography / Karolina Henke
“I am inspired by life. I find images everywhere. Here, the way in which a person wears a small hat or a handbag; there, a person who has a different story to tell. A person who stands out, who dares, who has their own entertaining solution.” Karolina lives on her senses, her strong energy; intuition.
“I´m a very driven person and relish the challenge of finding sollutions to problems and making things happen. I apply my energy to demonstrating that nothing is impossible and I aim to inspire others to put their ideas into practice. For me, everyone in the team is equally important, from assistant to model, and they all have something crucial to contribute to the final result.”
Karolina was born in 1970, and during the 1990s she worked as an assistant to various photographers in Stockholm and New York, from Anti Wendel to Andres Serrano.
Since 1999, Karolina has been a photographer in her own right - fashion and beauty, portraits and lifestyle - for clients including Nokia, Kicks, Apoteket, Libero, JC and Specsavers.
“I do not want to create too much of a niche for myself, and it is more fun to cross boundaries than it is to stay within them. I regard my job as a constant challenge, I lay myself bare, and I have to make a fool of myself a thousand times more than the person whom I am photographing. It all comes down to honesty.”
